PROOF OF FULL VACCINATION

In accordance with State of California and City of San Jose requirements, all guests attending events at SAP Center must abide by the following policy:

  • Guests 12 and over entering SAP Center must be fully vaccinated and provide proof of their vaccination status.

  • Effective December 9, guests ages 3 to 11 must be fully vaccinated or show proof of a negative COVID-19 test within 72 hours of the event.

Guest ages 18 and above must show proof of identification by presenting a government-issued ID that matches the name of the vaccination card. Please keep in mind that utilizing the CLEAR Health Pass will enable you to move quickly through the entry process. Guests under the ages of 18 do not need to present identification. 

Please note that fully vaccinated means that the final dose of the guest’s vaccine was administered at least 14 days prior to the event. For a schedule of events and the date the final dose needs to be administered, please click here.

FAQs

How long will the COVID-19 vaccine requirement for admittance to SAP Center be in effect?

The requirement will remain in place until state and local health and safety guidance is revised. We appreciate your patience and cooperation until that time.

Do I need to carry my vaccination card with me?

SAP Center guests who do not have a smartphone and/or access to the CLEAR app will be asked to produce and present their vaccination cards and a valid form of government issued identification for entry into the venue. It is recommended that all guests utilize the CLEAR Health Pass for entry to avoid additional wait times.

If I cannot use the CLEAR Health Pass, do I need show a form of government issued ID with my vaccination card?

Guest ages 18 and above must show proof of identification by presenting a government issued ID that matches the name of the vaccination card. Please keep in mind that utilizing the CLEAR Health Pass will enable you to move quickly through the entry process. Guests under the ages of 18 do not need to present identification. 

Can I provide the California Digital COVID-19 Vaccination QR Code as proof of vaccination?

Yes, in lieu of presenting your vaccination card, you may also present a digital image or paper copy of the California Digital COVID-19 Vaccination Record. In combination with the California Digital COVID-19 Vaccination QR Code, you must also present a valid form of Government issued ID that matches the name on the digital vaccination card. Please keep in mind that utilizing the CLEAR Health Pass will enable you to move quickly through the entry process as you will not be required to enter a secondary screening line.

What are the requirements for entry for minors ages 3-11?

Effective December 9, state guidelines require guests ages 3 – 11 to provide proof of full vaccination OR proof of a negative COVID-19 test result taken within 72 hours of the event.

For guests ages 3 – 11, SAP Center has partnered with Total Testing Solutions to provide free onsite testing near the Lexis Nexis Ticket Office on Barrack Obama Boulevard. However, to avoid unnecessary delays it is recommended to get a COVID-19 test with a negative result within 72 hours of an event prior to arriving at SAP Center.

Can I provide a negative COVID test if I am not vaccinated or previously tested positive for COVID?

For guests ages 12 or above, current City of San Jose health and safety protocols require that all event attendees over the age of 12 provide proof of full vaccination and do not allow for a negative COVID-19 test result as a substitute for proof of vaccination.

Effective December 9, California state regulations require event attendees ages 3–11 provide proof of full vaccination OR proof of a negative COVID-19 test result taken within 72 hours of the event.

Am I able to attend any events at SAP Center if I am not fully vaccinated?

Only guests ages 11 and younger may enter SAP Center if not fully vaccinated; however, anyone ages 3 to 11 must provide either proof of full vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test result taken within 72 hours of the event.

I previously tested positive for COVID-19. Do I still need to be vaccinated?

Yes, all guests age 12 and older must be fully vaccinated and able to provide proof of their vaccination status regardless of any prior test results.

Will the vaccination and testing requirements apply to all events at SAP Center?

Yes, these policies apply to all events hosted at SAP Center.

What happens if I have already purchased tickets for a future event but am not vaccinated and do not intend to be fully vaccinated by the date of my event?

You may choose to resell your tickets for the event via TicketMaster’s Ticket Exchange. For further questions, please contact the operator of your ticket point of purchase.

Am I able to attend my event if I am only partially vaccinated (e.g., one dose of Pfizer/Moderna vaccine, less than 14 days from final dose)?

No, you may not attend an event at SAP Center if you are 12 years of age or older and partially vaccinated.

Effective December 9, guests ages 11 and younger may enter SAP Center if they are partially vaccinated; however, they must also, present proof of a negative COVID-19 test result taken within 72 hours of the event if they are 3-11.

I will be attending an event with a minor child(ren) - will they need to have their own CLEAR Health Pass account / phone?

All guests who are minors and over the age of 14 should have their own CLEAR Health Pass account.

All guests aged 14 to 17:  Each guest will need an adult to create a CLEAR account and have them added as a minor to the account through the app’s settings. Please follow the below steps:

  • Have a parent or guardian (26+) download the CLEAR app
  • Click the account icon on the bottom right corner
  • Select “Minor Accounts”
  • The Parent or guardian will go through the enrollment process and then be prompted to add an email address, set up a minor account and have the minor snap a selfie.
  • Once added and enrolled as a minor, the minor guest will be able to download the CLEAR app on their mobile device, login to their account, add proof of vaccination, and generate their own Health Pass. If a minor guest is unable to be added to an adult’s account, they will be required to provide physical proof of the minor’s vaccination status at the facility.  Acceptable forms of proof of vaccination include a physical CDC vaccination card or a Digital Vaccine Record, which can be found at myvaccinerecord.cdph.ca.gov
  • All guests aged 12 and 13:  Current City of San Jose health protocols mandate that all guests aged 12 and over must be vaccinated to attend an event with more than 50 people in a city-owned facility.  Due to current best practices, CLEAR does not provide a Health Pass for 12- and 13-year-olds. Thus, adults or guardians with minors that are 12 or 13 years old will be required to provide physical proof of the minor’s vaccination status at the facility.  Acceptable forms of proof of vaccination include a physical CDC vaccination card or a Digital Vaccine Record, which can be found at myvaccinerecord.cdph.ca.gov.  
  • All guests ages 3-11: Effective December 9, guests ages 3-11 must be fully vaccinated or show proof of a negative COVID-19 test within 72 hours of the event.

How do I set up a CLEAR Health Pass for a minor?

  • Have a parent or guardian (18+) download the CLEAR app
  • Click the account icon on the bottom right-hand corner
  • Select “Minor Accounts”
  • Parent or guardian will go through the enrollment process and then be prompted to add an email address, set up a minor account, and have the minor snap a selfie!

Once a parent or guardian has set up the account, next steps are as follows:

    • Download CLEAR onto the minor's smartphone
    • Log in with the email and password the parent or guardian set up
    • Click on the white Health Pass tile and enter select your preferred venue’s icon
    • Add your proof of vaccine through the CDC card upload option

What if my child/minor guest does not have a device capable of creating a CLEAR account?

All guests aged 14 and over: If a minor does not have a mobile device capable of accessing CLEAR, that minor’s adult or guardian will be required to provide physical proof of the minor’s vaccination status at the facility. Acceptable forms of proof of vaccination include a physical CDC vaccination card or a Digital Vaccine Record, which can be found at myvaccinerecord.cdph.ca.gov.

Proof of full vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test will be required for entry into SAP Center. Acceptable forms of proof of vaccination include a physical CDC vaccination card or a Digital Vaccine Record which can be found at myvaccinerecord.cdph.ca.gov. Acceptable forms or proof of a negative Covid-19 Test Results includes a physical or digital negative COVID-19 test result that shows the name of the person taking the test and the date administered.

All guests ages 2 and under: currently, there are no requirements related to vaccination status and/or proof of a negative COVID-19 test for guests age 2 and under.

What if I do not have a smart phone, my phone battery dies, and/or I cannot download the CLEAR app?

Guests ages 18 and over without a smart phone with the CLEAR app are required to show your original paper Centers for Disease Control (CDC) vaccination card, a digital image of your CDC Card, the California Digital COVID-19 Vaccination record and a government issued identification.

Guests under 18 without a smartphone with the CLEAR app are required to show the original paper Centers for Disease Control (CDC) vaccination card, a digital image of your CDC Card or the California Digital COVID-19 Vaccination record. Guests under the age of 18 do not need to present government issued identification.

My event is more than 14 days away from now - can I still get vaccinated?

Yes! Santa Clara County vaccination locations can be found at https://vax.sccgov.org/. Visit https://myturn.ca.gov/ for vaccination locations throughout the State of California.

What happens if I received my vaccination outside of the United States?

Currently, only vaccinations received within the United States can be verified within the CLEAR Health Pass; however, you will still be eligible for entry into SAP Center by showing your original paper CDC vaccination card, a digital image of your CDC Card, the California Digital COVID-19 Vaccination record and a government issued identification.

Are employees working at SAP Center also required to be fully vaccinated?

Yes. All employees, vendors and contractors working at SAP Center are required to be fully vaccinated, unless granted an exemption in accordance with applicable law.

Does SAP Center provide on-site COVID-19 testing?

Yes, SAP Center does provide free onsite testing for minors ages 3 – 11 with the presentation of a health care provider card or valid driver’s license. SAP Center has partnered with Total Testing Solutions to provide onsite testing near the Lexis Nexis Ticket Office on Barrack Obama Boulevard. The testing site will open one hour prior to the time that doors are scheduled to open.

Total Testing Solutions will require the guardian’s health insurance card or Driver’s License. Total Testing Solutions will charge the cost of the test to the health care provider or use the driver’s license to charge the cost of the test to the CARES Act.

To avoid unnecessary delays, it is recommended to get a COVID-19 test with a negative result within 72 hours of an event prior to arriving at SAP Center.

What does SAP Center’s onsite COVID-19 testing for minors ages 3 – 11 cost?

There is no cost to the guardian of the minor when the guardian presents a health insurance card or driver’s license.  Total Testing Solutions will charge the cost of the test to the health care provider or use the driver’s license to charge the cost of the test to the CARES Act.
