SAP CENTER AT SAN JOSE AND SAP COLLABORATE WITH DIGITAL REALTY, THE SOBRATO ORGANIZATION, EMPIRE SEVEN STUDIOS, AND CALIFORNIA-BASED ARTISTS THE DRACULAS TO CREATE CELEBRATION MURAL
SAP CENTER 25 YEARS CELEBRATION MURAL TO STAND APPROXIMATELY 40 FEET TALL AND 270 FEET WIDE AND WILL BE LOCATED ON SAN FERNANDO ST, BETWEEN 1ST AND 2ND STREETS IN DOWNTOWN SAN JOSE
WHAT: SAP Center at San Jose (@SAPCenter) and SAP (@SAP_BayArea) in collaboration with Digital Realty, The Sobrato Organization, and Empire Seven Studios (E7S) have brought California-based mural artists The Draculas (Jeff McMillan and Gary Musgrave) to downtown San Jose to paint an SAP Center 25 Years Celebration Mural.
The mural, made possible by a financial contribution from SAP, will be a tribute to SAP Center for bringing world class musicians, entertainers, athletes, and events to the Bay Area over the last 25 years, creating memories that span generations. The mural will be located on San Fernando St., between 1st and 2nd streets in downtown San Jose.
Mural work will begin week of Monday, August 12 and will be completed prior to the SAP Center 25 Festival Weekend to be held September 13-15 at SAP Center.
The Draculas are comprised of Jeff McMillan and Gary Musgrave and are a California-based illustration and mural duo. Having grown up in San Jose, Jeff has many fond memories of visiting SAP Center for a variety of events. Seeing Eric Clapton with his father is one of Jeff’s fondest memories in life and just one example of the meaning behind this mural.
WHEN: Mural work will begin on Monday, August 12 and will continue throughout the month. The mural is scheduled to be completed prior to the SAP Center 25 Festival Weekend to be held September 13-15 at SAP Center at San Jose.
